My name is Dorothy Wyatt, and I have long been passionate about crafting stories that both entertain and educate young readers, aiming to inspire them in the process.

In “The Adventure of Harwood Squirrel,” readers will follow the charming tale of Harwood, a young and adventurous squirrel who lives in a snug woodland with his brother Garwood and their fellow squirrel community. Their lives are relatively serene and comfortable, thanks in large part to a kind-hearted lady who resides nearby and regularly feeds seeds and nuts to the local birds and squirrels.

However, their peaceful existence is upended when the lady moves away, leaving Harwood and his friends without their dependable source of food. Faced with this unexpected challenge, Harwood decides to embark on a daring adventure in search of new food sources. His journey begins when he encounters a large yellow truck and a big brown dog, setting him off into unknown territories. Throughout this adventure, Harwood faces and overcomes a series of new obstacles and unfamiliar environments, prompting readers to wonder about his fate. Will Harwood be able to find a new source of nourishment? Will his life return to its previous ease and comfort?

This book is crafted to captivate children aged 4 to 8 with its engaging characters and vivid storytelling. The narrative is designed not only to entertain but also to impart important lessons about adaptability, problem-solving, and the value of community. The story is filled with suspenseful and delightful moments that are sure to keep young readers eagerly turning the pages.
